Tailored Notion
Browser extension to improve the look of Notion web
Today, I'm looking back at my projects, cleaning up and sorting things out.
I found this post I wrote from 2020 being proud of having 236 users.
Tailored Notion is my most successful side project with 18K+ users today. It feels so good to have people sending me messages thanking me for the work on this extension.
Update 0.3.4:
- Themes have been dropped and replaced by a font picker and a font-color picker
- More options have been added to get a focus mode. It removes unnecessary tools when you need deep-focus
- You can now pick a font from your device. So you have ample choice and it's faster than Google Fonts

I started tailored notion as a "6 MVP in 12 months" project and I'm glad I got some traction out of it.
It's not huge but starting from zero, it's better than all the projects I worked on the past years.
I have very good feedback and I think it's going somewhere even if it's a really small niche.
Notion.so announcing a public API in spring could be a great pivotal point!

The extension (add-on as Mozilla put it) is available for Firefox now!
Sadly, I'm gonna have to remove some features because of bugs that firefox haven't been resolved (ticket open for 4 years)
Anyway it's still pretty cool:

I received a lot of feedback from the product hunt launch with request for new features.
So I added those one to the extension:
- You can pick a color for the top & side bar or paste an hex code
- you can go back to default color
- you can keep Notion's icon in the browser tab, no matter what page you're in

Today, I launched Tailored Notion on Product Hunt.
It's my second launch there and I'm still not sure I'm doing this right.
Anyway, I hope I get some upvotes, a bit more visibility and also some feedbacks because the first users are very quiet.

Hey @ThomasMalicet congrats on the PH launch, I've just upvoted the product on PH.
I've heard alot about Notion and going to give it a go just by seeing how you have organised your notion boards. Been in love with Google sheets/docs and don't feel like betraying haha.
Regarding the website, I can see you have added alot of features to the product. It would be nice to make it more organised into sections and explaining the features.

Thanks!
I was a big fan of Google Drive too, but Notion much better to organise your work.
And I agree with you, my feature section is messy. I need to work on this.

Just played around with Notion a little this morning. I like the different features of how you can organise your content/data. Planning to use it for a sub project from next week.

Just came across this https://www.indiehackers.com/post/5th-notion-meetup-1cc6cb101a , maybe worth joining to meet other notion users and talk about the product?

That's a really niche project if it's really only targeting users of Notion.
That should give at least a very good idea where to find the interested people, not entirely sure if Product Hunt is the right place for that.
Maybe Notion has a forum or something... Anyway, gave an upvote and good luck!

Hi, Thomas
Your product looks pretty good. I'm not an expert in Product Hunt launches but I think the following would help you reach more upvotes in the future:
- a video where to present exactly how the tool is used
- a gif for the thumbnail

Thanks!
You're right, I need to work on videos when I launch something.
I think that's still the best way to attract people.
Today my extension finally got published on the Chrome Web Store.
This a MVP of sort to gather feedback on features people would like to see in the future as I have tons of ideas to improve Notion's design and UI/UX.
The website is online too, with a form to gather inputs:
