Offline feels like the more interesting story here than OCR itself.
Most people assume text extraction is a solved problem. The question is who cares enough about privacy, reliability, or working without a connection to actively choose an offline tool. That audience could be much more distinctive than competing on OCR accuracy alone.
The fully offline part is what made this stand out. There are plenty of OCR apps but very few where privacy is the first thing you notice instead of an afterthought.
I kept picturing someone asking ChatGPT for an OCR app to scan passports or handwritten notes on a flight with no internet. At that moment they're mostly looking for proof that everything really stays on the device without surprises.
I'm curious if you've noticed new users mention the offline aspect before they ever talk about the OCR accuracy itself.
Love how you treated the whole business as a template rather than a one-off build most people underestimate how much of a "localized product" is actually just translation + a few market-specific trust signals (Lulu for printing, WhatsApp as the channel). Curious what made you pause it to focus on SiftedTools was it traction, or just bandwidth? Would love to see this one picked back up, the concept is genuinely touching (turning parents' voices into something permanent).
