Tuti

Tuti reached 100 sign ups in may. I'm so happy what Tuti achieved within 2-3 months.

All first 100 users are purely organic. I have not paid to get any traffic or signups.

Majority of the signups came from Reddit, PH, IndieHackers and Betalist.

Looking forward to move ahead slowly and add more features and functionalities.

I launched Tuti on ProductHunt. I know people say you need to post it on specific time and date to get maximum number of visitors.

I didn't care, I just need to get more eyeballs to see Tuti. So I just went ahead and posted it.

I'll post it on ProductHunt again when I add a new feature.

After tinkering with the MVP, and knowing that it is not 100% ready, I decided to ship it. At least I'd be able to get more feedback. And I know that it'll never be ready for a launch anytime soon.

I think showing it on HackerNews paid off, because even though I thought that I'd get lot of feedback, criticism, and some signups, I got nothing. 0 votes, 0 comments, 0 signups, 0 feedback.

Maybe it's due to the target demographic is not the HackerNews audience.

But since most coders like flashcards, I thought that they might be interested in it.

The MVP was ready by march. I decided to show it to some of my friends who are developers to get some feedback.

I shared my project in several Facebook groups which had developers.

I received some valuable feedback from some of my colleagues who helped me to improve the MVP and fix some issues along the way.

So I decided I'd build something, having my initial idea as a guiding start. So I started coding and coding and coding.

It was not easy, I had to learn some new stuff along the way.

The best thing about coding is there is always something new to learn.

I was looking for a co-founder, but all of my friends were busy with their own work, so I decided to build this on my own.

At least I'm going to have 2 users, me and my wife. So it's not a lost cause.

I was watching my wife trying to painstakingly create a simple presentation for her students, who was getting lessons via zoom due to the pandemic.

I asked her, is there anything I can build to help her in improving the way she teach her students online?

Even though she did not gave an answer, I spent the day trying to brainstorm an idea, Googling to see some products that already existed which I can improve.

After several days of looking I finally thought about making a simple way to build presentations, flashcards, polls and more for my wife to use.

Also being a MSc student myself, I also thought that I'd be able to benefit from the tools I build to help me in my studies.
