Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a Computer Teacher at Government High School Dholewala, Punjab, India.

For years, I've watched students struggle with one skill that doesn't get enough attention: typing.

Most students know how to use a computer, but very few know how to type efficiently. Even those who practice often lose interest because existing typing websites either feel outdated, focus only on speed tests, or don't provide the kind of structured learning I wanted for my classroom.

Instead of waiting for someone else to build the platform I had in mind, I decided to build it myself.

That project became TypingBIRDS.

My goal isn't to create just another typing test website. I want to build a platform where:

• 🎓 Beginners can learn with structured lessons.

• 🏁 Typists can enjoy live races and challenges.

• 📊 Users can track real progress in speed and accuracy.

• 👨‍🏫 Teachers can monitor an entire class without unnecessary complexity.

• 🇮🇳 Students preparing for government typing exams can practice in one place.

I'm not a startup founder backed by investors—I'm building this alongside my full-time job because I genuinely believe typing is a foundational digital skill.

Over the past few months I've been redesigning the platform, improving SEO, writing educational articles, and listening to user feedback. Every new feature comes from a real problem I've seen in classrooms or experienced myself.

I'm joining Indie Hackers because I want to learn from other builders, share my progress, and hopefully help others who are creating products with limited resources.
