Continuous validation for deciding what’s worth building

Totally agree. Validation is clarity. Strategy is confidence.

This resonates a lot. We see so many founders get “validated” and still freeze because validation doesn’t equal a plan. Knowing something could work isn’t the same as knowing what to do next on Monday. I like how you frame this as turning data into decisions, that’s the real gap.

    1. 1

Exactly. That “what do I do on Monday?” moment is where most founders stall.

One thing we have been very intentional about is not treating AI or validation as an answer engine. It is a thinking aid. The goal is to surface tradeoffs, paths, and constraints so founders can actually decide, not just feel reassured.

We wrote a bit more about that mindset recently, AI as a tool for reasoning, not the truth itself, because that distinction shapes how we built this.

VCV8 can help you systematically test assumptions about your offer’s viability before heavy commitment. You get structured feedback across multiple pillars (demand, competition, growth potential, etc.). It gives clarity, not hype — telling you where the risk actually is rather than what you hope. USE IT FOR:

🔹 Testing a business or product concept before launching it

🔹 Verifying an idea’s viability with structured insight

🔹 Avoiding sunk cost in early strategy

This is useful if you want to build a business arm or product offering . 😉

Thanks for the code, count me in!

Nice gonna check this out, been looking for something a little more robust than just ChatGPT

    1. 2

Appreciate that! That gap is exactly why I built VCV8.

ChatGPT is great for ideation, but it tends to reason in a vacuum and often tells you what sounds right. VCV8 is designed to challenge ideas, not validate vibes. It pulls in real market data, competitive signals, revenue logic, and risk factors, then forces a clear go or no-go with reasoning behind it.

Think of it less like a chat and more like a structured stress test for an idea before you sink time or money into building it.

I’m a business owner thinking about pivoting. Do I drop my info here?

    1. 2

Yes. You can drop your info directly into VCV8.

Here’s the clean way to do it if you’re a business owner considering a pivot or new idea.

Step 1: Establish your current benchmark
Start by running your existing business through VCV8 before you model the pivot.

      Inside the submission, describe:

      • What the business does today

      • Who the core customer is

      • How revenue is generated

      • Current pricing and delivery model

      • Any known constraints (location, team size, fixed costs, regulations)

This creates a baseline score that represents “where the business stands right now.”

VCV8 also allows for up to 20 files to be submitted.

Step 2: Sign up and start with GrowthCheck
Create an account and start with the GrowthCheck tier.

GrowthCheck is the right starting point for pivots because it:

      • Evaluates real market demand and competitive pressure

      • Benchmarks revenue and business model viability

      • Highlights where the current model breaks before you change it

Run the first report on the current business, not the pivot.

Step 3: Model the pivot in the Strategy Hub
Once the baseline report is generated, move into the Strategy Hub.

      There you can:

      • Duplicate the project and modify assumptions for the pivot

      • Adjust pricing, audience, positioning, or channel strategy

      • Compare scenarios side-by-side against your original benchmark

      • See how risk, upside, and feasibility shift with each change

This lets you stress-test the pivot instead of guessing.

VCV8 will handle the rest by grounding it in real data and structured analysis.

We launched VCV8 on Product Hunt today 🎉

VCV8 came out of a lot of frustration around validating ideas without real signal. Today’s launch is mostly about putting it in front of smart builders and seeing what resonates.

If you’re on Product Hunt, I’d really appreciate an upvote, a comment, or a share. Even quick feedback helps more than you’d think.

Happy to return the favor for anything you’re launching too.

would be more helpful to have a tool that honestly guides you toward "it worked". taking you from fail to pass, or at least showing a viable path

    1. 1

Interesting take. Do you think “it worked” should mean demand is proven, or that there’s a clear next step to get there? I’ve noticed those often get conflated, and that’s where validation starts to mislead.

Had the same problem. Now I use tractionway dot com before building anything - polls early adopters in 24hrs. Saved me from a few bad ideas already. Way better than asking friends who just say "sounds cool."

About

VCV8 came from seeing how often good ideas fail early. I’ve watched founders, creators, and myself invest time, money, and energy into ideas that were never properly validated.
