WeatherJourney
Historical weather service, data since 1940 for 6k cities
I was playing with ERA5 climate reanalysis data and got hooked — you can see exactly how any city's weather has changed since 1940. Record summers, unusually mild winters, how much wetter or drier it's gotten. Fascinating stuff that's publicly available but basically inaccessible without scientific tools.
So I built weatherjourney.com — look up any major city, get 85 years of temperature and precipitation history, and see how today compares to the long-term average. Free, no signup.
It's part of my small SimpleMeteo family of weather tools (uvi.today, pollen.today, airindex.today). Still early — working on SEO and getting it in front of people who'd actually find it useful.
Happy to hear from anyone who's tackled climate data or long-tail city SEO before.
