Just got our product page up. Page's focus is early investors. We'll adjust the landing page to speak more to customers once we raise our first round in near future.

Telling the story of why the product is needed and the larger market it falls into. Trying to implicitly show deal flow possibilities (product extensibility) as well as a unique strong framing of the solution.

Our customer / commercial homepage is zakoapp dot com. The application itself will speak to devices and servers via zako dot app.

First releases of ZAKOapp will be for devices running on the Mobile OS created by KaiOS Technologies, Inc.. Their "KaiOS" is a fork of the codebase created by Mozilla. Devices running KaiOS are either button phones or flip phones (the new standard term is Feature Phone). The nickname Dumb Phone gets used in North America (on the rare occassion someone is talking about these devices) but it has quickly become an outdated characterization. While they may not be as "smart" or graphically advanced as large phones, many of these devices made by Nokia, Digit, Tecno and other major manufacturers are coming equipped with GPS, Voice-to-Text, WhatsApp, Google Assistant etc. They are powerful and cheap with incredible battery life, boasting 100s of Millions if not Billions of users.

We have many other reasons for launching on KaiOS before piloting ZAKO on Android or Apple. We plan to explain our strategy over the next few months through a variety of social channels, on our company site londonstreet.co, as well as through short stories and multimedia on zakoapp.com.

February 3, 2023 Why ZAKO?

After years of working labour and Trades jobs, I began to really appreciate the challenges that very small teams and their leaders face, from an administration perspective. These guys have to wear every hat while on the job and on the go. For example a Carpenter needs to compete and be professional like any other business leader, and this means good records, prompt follows up on leads, and solid bookkeeping.

Trying to pull all of this off on mobile is very difficult, and like many average people, I've witnessed them harness the default tools on their phone to fulfill these repetitive tasks like an in-built suite (example Reminders, Notes, Calculator, Screenshots etc).

2 years ago I started a moving company and have lived out the problems myself. The main thing I took away, and the big thing reinforced by theorists like Clayton Christensen, is that the simplicity of the current "non-solutions" which these classes of people depend on is what you're competing against not the existing complex tools that these bottom groups have never touched.

After lots of Customer Discovery and prototyping we've arrived at a focus on financial records as the linchpin in the work flow and the missing so-called default tool. That's why ZAKO is being built - to make financial records easy to manage and by doing so create a new approach to small business management.
