Manage and grow a sustainable digital business
I've launched a free, on-hour video course aim to help freelancers to manage their cashflows: track expenses and plan earnings.
I'm looking forward to receiving subscribers' feedbacks (from Indie Hackers as well).
The first three (actually, four) months of work have been definitely busy and featuring a bunch of diverse topics to cover.
Coming with a decent solution for my website has been challenging since I have basic coding skills.
Anyway, now I'm happy I can handle Drupal enough well for my needs and I can do very nice things with Highcharts.
I still have some issues, both with CSS and functionalities, but I'm working on them.
At the beginning of the project, I thought that the acquisition strategy should be focused on getting people I existed and then the content would have done the rest.
I then changed my mind because some researches showed me that there is space also for some SEO positioning. So, I had to re-design the site structure and the component of my articles.
I've now 14 articles published, I'm pretty fond of the work done. I've also 3 more articles scheduled and planning to work on other topics in order to have 2 new articles per month.
In terms of marketing activities, I didn't do much, but I will start in 2019. So far I have gained a couple of backlinks and written two guest posts. Backlinko (https://backlinko.com/) was a great source of insiration.
The last challenge I'm still facing is cleaning Google Analytics to have consistent data.
Hope in a growing 2019, rich of the same energy I put on the project in 2018.
During summer vacation, I started gathering previous excel files and refreshed them up.
Also, I performed some analyses more in order to have some articles to be posted as soon as I launched my alpha version.
I struggled to build the website using Drupal 7 and learned to use Highcharts Cloud to showcase the results of my analyses.
I decided to launch the project, after a long time thinking about whether it was the case.
What has always stopped me from starting were basically two thoughts, which I then discovered to be very common.
First, I thought not to be enough knowledgable. Second, I thought not to have enough time to stay on top of the project.
I launched other web projects in the past. They all lacked growing as we expected because we were not enough knowledgable about the core business and this translated into the impossibility to deliver great content.
So, in the area where I believe I can provide others with fresh, hands-on and well-researched content, I took the courage to start.
