August 11, 2026 Launching Zorin: a pricing intelligence tool that recommends you profit-maximising prices for your products

Would love feedback from anyone who's dealt with pricing on their own store.

Pricing is something that is often ignored by many business owners, as they either forget about it or they do not know how to price properly. Many of them price through gut-feel or by copying competitor's pricing. The problem I kept running into: every pricing app I looked at for my own Shopify store fell into one of two buckets. Either it watched competitor prices and told me to match or undercut them, or it let me set fixed discount rules I configured myself. Neither one actually answered the question I had, which was just: what will my own customers pay for this specific product?

So I built Zorin. You connect Shopify or WooCommerce (or upload a CSV of past sales), and it fits a price elasticity model per SKU from your actual price-and-quantity history, not anyone else's storefront. For each product you get a plain raise, lower, or hold call, an estimated profit lift, and a confidence score based on how much real price variation is actually in your data. A product that's never had its price moved gets flagged with lower confidence instead of being presented with false certainty.

A few decisions I made on purpose:

  • Nothing applies automatically. You review every recommendation, can adjust it with a slider or your own number, preview the margin impact, then apply it one product at a time or in bulk.

  • It does not scrape or compare competitor prices. A competitor's price reflects their costs and audience, not yours, and I didn't want the model quietly reacting to something that has nothing to do with your own customers.

  • There's also a separate Van Westendorp price sensitivity survey (a short customer-facing questionnaire) for when you don't have enough sales history yet, stated preference sitting next to revealed preference, not blended into one number.

Built for a store owner or a small ops team handling pricing as one job among several, not a dedicated analyst. Realistically works best once you've got 10+ SKUs and some real sales history with price movement in it, since elasticity needs variation to read.

The confidence score based on actual price variation is a nice touch. It seems much more honest than giving a precise recommendation when the underlying data barely contains any pricing signal. The “raise, lower, or hold” framing also makes the output easier to act on than just showing another elasticity number.

About

Pricing strategy is often neglected by many business owners and many price their products by gut feel or following their competitors. A proper solution can help them maximise their profits.
