I spent years in the Sales-Led Growth world. I was a founding SDR leader at Apollo and helped scale the company from $800K to $50M ARR. I have lived the SLG motion from the inside.
Now I run an AI native GTM agency, and I am watching something happen that makes both SLG and PLG look like last-gen thinking.
AI-Led Growth. Or ALG, because B2B SaaS needs another acronym.
Here is the simple version. SLG scales with headcount. More SDRs, more pipeline, more cost. PLG scales with product. Free tiers, self-serve onboarding, viral loops. ALG scales with compute. AI agents handle the prospecting, enrichment, outreach, and qualification. Humans handle the conversations that require nuance and relationship.
If you are building a B2B product, this matters for two reasons. First, your own growth motion will probably shift toward ALG within the next year or two. The economics are too compelling to ignore. Second, if your product touches the revenue stack, your customers are already thinking about this.
The companies I work with are running what I call ALG plus SLG. The AI does the heavy lifting. The humans close. The result is dramatically lower cost per opportunity with the same or better conversion rates on qualified deals.
We are not at full autonomy yet. But the trajectory is clear. The companies that adopt ALG now will have a compounding advantage by the time their competitors figure it out.
