March 11, 2025 How come users love your product yet do not buy it

One thing I have for long wondered about https://www.authorflows.com/

is the amount of postive reviews we have been receiving form communities. They all individually say , our tool resolves challenges they face when writing , but no one commits to ever trying to purchase it.

What could be the reason?

If i were to answer, most people hate subscriptions/paying money. Even though we made our price go from 10 to 8$ monthly , we seem to not have noticed anything subsequently different . Should we be making it a close-to-free price(1$) then i guess we might be losing and not gain any money then. No possible scalability in the future for the tool.

Any advice ?

People tend to say nice things to you to make you happy. The real feedback comes from actual paying users.

    Things to consider:

    • Is it something as simple as showing the wrong price? I notice that when I first look at pricing, it shows $200 lifetime (feels like a lot of $) vs. the $8/mo pricing.

    • Do you have active users? Are they stuck when trying to pay for the product?

    • Are you solving a problem with no money in the market – what if you talk to some users and say you will kill the product since there's no revenue. What's their reaction?

March 10, 2025 New strategy: posting daily on reddit and X

So I was telling myself maybe for brand awareness , I just should start posting daily on reddit , which i noticed was bringing me slight more views(10-15) compared to X which for a week kept me on a regular 5 views.

What is really concerning is , this is still not generating new sign ups. Hopefully someone tells us whAT i may be doing wrong

Sometimes it takes a little more time

I wonder if daily posting anywhere is too much. Quality over quantity etc. I think the platform really depends on what market you are targeting.

      great insight indeed

March 9, 2025 We tried another strategy #partnershipStrategy

since the visits count was relatively low , i insighted my cofounder about sending parternships inquiries to large writing corporations. Platforms where writers can directly write and publish their books.

What those platforms lack

I noticed that those platforms do not offer effective ways for writers, bloggers to keep track of their writing's detail consistency and streamline their scripts. You would kind of write in bulk and always have to rewind back to your previous plots to have an idea about what to write next. Which luckily https://www.authorflows.com/

solves.

My approach

I sent to each of those companies (e.g: wattpad,...) collaboration inquiries by proposing them to use our APIs so they could just incorporate them to their software .

So Far only one company responded and we have got ghosted by other companies.
But I will keep on going. #trustTheProcess #inForTheLongRun

March 8, 2025 How we came up with an edge-cutting tool idea for writers

How it all started?

At the beginning of this startup, my cofounder was alone. he would write as a part-time even though he was a full stack developer . One challenge he faced when writing was having to keep track of anything he'd write. It is not evident, using sheets, or notes to remember every single detail from the previous thousands of pages , or remembering every single detail from your hundreds of characters , their arcs , or remember the different plotlines . So he decided to bring his idea to reality , which he did.

How did I join him?

I have always been driven with the idea of joining a seed startup and leverage it, although i had almost no skill in sales, marketing since i had a bachelor in CS.
so i would for hours refresh the several reddit, discord pages to seek for someone who need a cofounder. Thus is how i stumbled across his post and shot my shot. Then he eventually had me in , this is where i felt important , and had the confidence from someone willing to not downlook at me from my lack of experience.

How is the startup going so far ?

well !! frankly talking . Extremely bad 😂😂. people show interest but yet are not willing to pay to use.
It is mentally draining as I constantly think that my cofounder might think I am just uneffective and who knows might try to look for someone else.
I am in for a very long run, I every single day post across several social media platforms, reddit, hackernews,X,discord and reach out to close to 20 people daily. I either get ghosted , or they just turn it down.
But I will keep on it, was a bit discouraged , but regained track.
One important thing is we are realistic , as we know there is a need for this product, and the idea has been validated, else I would have not kept on working on it. But I trust the process. It will one day pay off.
