Contact Form Spam Blocker
Today I launched German language support for https://formpuppy.com — an AI email filter that sits between your contact form and inbox, blocking spam and cold sales outreach before it reaches you.
The product now supports English, Japanese, and German. Full UI translation, localized landing page, and two German blog posts targeting DSGVO-related keywords.

Why Germany specifically?
I noticed a painful irony for German businesses: they're drowning in contact form spam, but the obvious fix — adding reCAPTCHA — creates a DSGVO headache. Google reCAPTCHA sends IP addresses, browser fingerprints, and behavior profiles to US servers. Several German data protection authorities have questioned the legal basis for this. So German SMBs are stuck.
formpuppy works at the email layer, not the form layer. No JavaScript loaded on the visitor's browser. No third-party requests on form submit. You just swap your notification email address — setup takes 5 minutes.
It's not a perfect DSGVO story (you still sign a DPA with us), but it sidesteps the visitor-side tracking issue entirely.

Still early days. Would love feedback from anyone building for the DACH market — what am I missing about how German SMBs think about this?
Hey IH 👋
I just launched formpuppy — an AI-powered filter that blocks spam and cold sales emails from contact forms, and only forwards the real inquiries to your inbox.
The problem I was solving:
Right after launching a product, my contact form got buried in SEO agency pitches, outsourcing offers, and bot spam. I'd miss legitimate user messages because they were lost in the noise. CAPTCHA didn't help — a lot of the spam comes from real humans or increasingly sophisticated AI bots that breeze past traditional filters.
How formpuppy works:
1. Sign up and get a unique inbox address (e.g. yourproject@yourproject.formpuppy.com)
2. Change your form's notification email to that address — one setting, no code changes
3. formpuppy's AI classifies each incoming email and forwards only the real ones to your actual inbox
4. Blocked emails are visible on the dashboard, so nothing gets permanently lost
The key insight: filtering at the email layer means it works with any form — Contact Form 7, Webflow, Typeform, custom HTML forms, you name it. No plugins, no deploy, just one email address change.
Where it stands:
- Just launched, looking for early feedback
- Free plan available
- Built with Next.js + Supabase + OpenAI
Would love to hear if you've dealt with this problem and how you handled it. Happy to answer questions!

Contact forms get flooded with spam and cold sales—real inquiries get buried. I built formpuppy so teams and businesses of any size can keep their form inbox clean and only get notified for messages that actually matter.
