It’s been about 4–5 months of building, mostly solo in the early phase. The hardest part was integrating live travel APIs — flight data is fragmented, and every provider structures things differently.
Another big challenge was making SkyNeu actually feel intelligent — not just a chatbot spitting flight data, but something that understands user intent, layover preferences, and even disruption patterns.
Right now I’m focused on improving accuracy and personalization, so the AI learns from how each person travels.
Honestly, the journey’s been intense but incredibly rewarding. Seeing early users actually plan trips with it makes all the late nights worth it.

A "no-brainer" price might be subscription-based: $9.99/month for frequent travelers, but with a "pay per trip" option ($4.99/trip) for occasional users. The key is showing ROI - "This saved you $347 on your last 3 trips."
Integration Opportunities: Have you considered partnerships with loyalty card/rewards apps? Travel + rewards is a natural fit, and cross-promotion could be powerful.
User Retention: The visa assistance feature is brilliant - that's the kind of stress-point solution that creates loyal users. In our app, the features that solved genuine pain points (like "find my card when I'm at checkout") drove the highest engagement.

Two small moves I’d test next: a 30-sec “zero-to-result” demo pinned up front, and a couple of job-to-be-done templates so new users start from a proven baseline instead of a blank state.

You're right to question the numbers, especially when they don’t seem to match what’s visible on the surface like social media.
To be 100% transparent:
The “50,000+ users” refers to the total number of people who’ve interacted with any part of the project — including visa checks, AI queries, waitlist signups, and users testing early features. It’s not a claim about social media followers or active app installs.
The “2,500+ travelers” mentioned in the hero section is the actual number of users currently on our waitlist or actively testing the MVP.
And yes — we really do have zero social media following right now. We’ve been focused on building the product first, not growing our socials.
Still, I get how this can feel misleading. That's on me — and I’ll update the site to make those numbers clearer and avoid confusion.
Appreciate the honest callout — and please keep holding us accountable. We want to build this right.

This is just my personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt:
I think a general AI assistant that helps you plan travel is an okay idea. The main problem with it is that the alternative of using google travel or expedia is that 1) you can book straight from it and 2) they already make decent plans for you.
However, I think if your AI could become very "personalized" for each user then it would provide massive benefits. For example, the AI asks the user about their airline rewards, airline credit cards, loyalty programs, hotel credit cards, etc. and then if it can create personally optimized travel plans then that is real value for a customer. For example, it knows you don't like long layovers so it books trips where you can utilize lounges that you already have access to or it suggests different dates where there is no layover.
Just some food for thought. I feel like personal AI assistants will grow in every service industry. -
