30 plus games are now live! Over a 1000 daily users. trysolitaire.com is now starting to gain traction across the world! We need to focus on marketing, SEO and getting our DR up to rank on search. That is the whole game here and the competing sites have been there done that for a long time with DR which is hard to beat.

This week has been all about optimizing the code base and adding performance tweaks. The games are now really fast thanks to the optimizations of the cards. No more janky loading, just pure fast loads. The card sizes went down by over 96%.

Among other things, we carved out shared modules and centralized them, got rid of a ton of duplicate code, wrote unit tests and took our coverage from a paltry 2% to well over 30%.

Lots of work still pending. Lots of games to add, test coverage needs to be driven up, content game needs to be upped to match keywords, the sitemap needs to be cleaned.

I loved playing the classic games that shipped with Windows XP. Be it minesweeper, spider solitaire, free cell or classic solitaire.

When I searched online to relive the experience, I noticed that there were a bunch of sites running intrusive ads, with old outdated gaming experiences, which were ruining the playing experience of these classics.

I was disappointed with the gaming sites and wanted to build something clean which focused on the playing experience over ads, leaderboards, analytics, stealing private info etc. trySolitaire.com is the product of my disappointment with other solitaire sites and my humble attempt at providing the gaming community with the playing experience befitting a true classic set of games.

I have built Klondike, spider solitaire, golf solitaire, pyramid solitaire, free cell, tripeaks solitaire so far and I am in the process of adding many more solitaire variants including, forty thieves, yukon solitaire, canfield solitaire, addiction etc.

Since, these games are usually played by the senior and young adult communities, I have also added 2048 and sudoku games to the website for added variety.

Given that users around the world love playing these classic games, especially card games, I have provided multiple card backs and face options to choose from including French, Spanish, Ornamental and Simple styled cards. My favorite are the Single styled cards which are soothing on the eyes. The Spanish cards are a close second followed by French cards. I also provided multi-language support, smooth and satisfying animations and scoring systems for you to track your stats. Everything remains private and is stored on your machines!

My goal is to optimize these games and add new variants endlessly, keep them free forever and provide the best gaming experience for these games on the planet!
